The Villages of Norwalk
Welcome, Neighborhood Ambassadors!
Thank you for your interest in stepping forward to champion your neighborhood and help bring Norwalk's vision to life. As a neighborhood ambassador, you will play a vital role in strengthening local identity and creating meaningful experiences that encourage residents and visitors alike to explore, connect, and belong.
This page serves as your central resource hub. Here you'll find the project vision and guidance on your role as an ambassador. Use this information to inspire your work, adapt ideas to fit your neighborhood's unique character, and collaborate with the city and fellow ambassadors.
Together, we're continuing to grow a city where people feel rooted in their neighborhoods and proud to call Norwalk home—a true community of vibrant and distinct neighborhoods that reflect The Villages of Norwalk vision.
The Vision: Norwalk as a City of Neighborhoods
Norwalk's vision is to grow with purpose, shaping a city defined not by the pace of development, but by strong neighborhood identities, unique experiences, connection, and exceptional quality of life. As our community continues to evolve, we are committed to preserving the small-town character and neighborly spirit that has drawn residents to Norwalk for generations.
Rather than becoming an interchangeable suburb or simply a collection of developments, Norwalk will be known as a community of vibrant and distinct neighborhoods anchored by local commercial centers, gathering spaces, and human-scale design. This approach reflects the idea of The Villages of Norwalk.
Through both city-wide and neighborhood-specific strategies, this initiative will strengthen local identity and create meaningful experiences. The result is a city where people feel close, connected to those in their "village", and proud to belong in Norwalk.
Councilmember Jason Brown is the champion of this initiative, which is one component of the city's "Envision 2035" goals.
